LETTER FROM THE MINISTRY OF COMUNICATIONS
to His Britannic Majesty's Embassy.

The Ministry has the honour to acknowledge
the receipt of the Embassy's letter of 21st August,
quoting a letter from the Governor of Hong Kong stating that the agreement for through traffic between the
Chinese and British sections of the Canton-Kowloon
Railway, and the agreement for through traffic between the Canton-Hankow Railway and the Chinese and British
sections of the Canton-Kowloon Railway, are due to
expire on 1st October and 1st November, 1939, respectively, and suggesting that they be renewed until the 31st December,
1941.
This Ministry has the honour to express its
concurrence in this proposal and has issued the necessary
instructions to the Canton-Kowloon and Canton-Hankow
Railway Administrations.
It is requested that His Excellency the
Governor of Hongkong may be informed accordingly.
